Hyde Park children photography in London
If you are thinking have your children’s next portraits taken on location in London, it’s probably hard for you to choose from all the stunning locations. I will share with your my absolute favourite among the many great places in London. Namely Hyde Park. Hyde Park is in itself a vast area with numerous different sceneries to choose from. The rose garden for one is simply amazing, and the beautiful flowers and the scent of the roses will enchant you. The rose garden will certainly give you a picturesque backdrop for portraits of your children, and a professional photographer will be able to capture the moment. If you don’t go during the summer when the roses blossom, don’t worry. Hyde Park is even more beautiful in the fall when the trees turn golden, creating gorgeous surroundings to take photos in. So, Hyde Park children photography is the thing to do nowadays.
Moreover, a trip to Hyde Park will be lovely outing to do as your family. And let’s be honest. Even if you live in London, you probably don’t use the park as much as you would like to. So grab this opportunity to combine pleasure with creating lasting memories with your children. There are all sorts of activities you can do in Hyde Park. From doing a traditional family picnic on the lawn, to horseback riding or playing tennis. There is so much you can enjoy here. If you have active kids they will love a trip to Hyde Park. And even if your kids are the typical city kids, who love their ipads or video games, their faces will lighten up when they come here.
Kensington Gardens are just there
In addition to Hyde Park, you will find Kensington Garden to the South. Kensington Garden is the royal gardens adjoining Kensington Palace, currently the residence of Prince William and Kate. Oh yes. However, don’t get any ideas that they will suddenly appear out of nowhere in the park. The chances of that happening are extremely low. However, you might find the occasional celebrities in their sports clothes jogging, or sitting on a bench, covered with large sunglasses. Besides, the chances of you actually recognising them on the spot are really low. They know how to cover up and hide themselves really well.
What I love about Kensington Gardens is that it is an absolutely huge park, with some gorgeous lakes here and there. That’s why Hyde Park children photography, is perfect.
You can take the kids to Kensington’s gardens just next door and let them feed the duck and swans. Just remember to tell them not to touch the swans, as they are the Queen’s. I bet you didn’t know that all swans in England belong to the Queen. Also, did you know that Kensington Garden’s is one of the largest parks in London? I think it’s great to have some green in our busy large city.
The bridge in the middle
There is a beautiful bridge over the Serpentine lake in Kensington gardens, which is a stunning background for a lovely photo. Definitely one of the best sites for Hyde Park children photography. The bridge is located near the Park Office. The only thing that might challenge you, is that it’s in the centre of park. What that means, is that your kids might not be patient enough to walk such a distance. If you’ve got a toddler, then go with the stroller as fast as you can. Otherwise, take a ball or some toys to keep the kids entertained. Or maybe take some petty cash and buy them a balloon.
Princess Di’s memorial playground
It is also in Kensington Garden that you will find the Princess Diana memorial playground. Did you know that it was founded by her? I bet you anything that you’ll find flowers laid there in her memory. The playground features a huge wooden ship and was opened 2000 in memory of the late Princess.
This is why I enjoy Hyde Park children photography so much, because in fact every time I go around this memorial playground, I say a little prayer for our late Princess Diana.
The playground has origins in the story of Peter Pan and appeals to children’s imagination. Without a doubt your children will be thrilled to run around this place, and you can get some good action photos at the same time. The playground itself gets very busy, and is not the ideal site of a portrait photograph. However, it will put a smile on their faces an entertain them, making the kids easier to work with.
The Albert Memorial
Once you thought that you can’t get any more stunning backdrops, there comes the Albert Memorial. It Queen Victoria’s memorial to her husband. The beautiful gold decorations on the memorial will reflect ever so nicely on the pictures. The background is spacious and your kids will live to run around the memorial in circles. I absolutely love the fact that London has so much to offer. Convinced that Hyde Park children photography is for you? If not for photography, then definitely for a picnic or a visit while you are in town.
The nearby petting Zoo is what will entertain your kids
Another great place to go with your kids is the nearby petting zoo. Children are super curious about animals, and it’s simply adorable to watch. Furthermore it will provide great opportunities to photograph your children in a happy environment. Don’t let the smell put you off. The smile on your children’s faces is all worth it. Trust me they will be talking about it for days!
If you want beautiful active photos of your children, Hyde Park and Kensington Garden are great places to go.
Let the professional photographer do the work, and get the best out of the locations. You can even make a little album with Hyde Park photos. Your kids will love this later when they grow up.
As you can see, you have a thousand options with Hyde Park children photography. Can’t go wrong with this one!
